Universal Fire Limited

The company was formed in 1989 to provide specialist support to the fire industry, utilising the comprehensive experience of our founder engineers. We have worked on a wide variety of projects in commercial, residential and industrial sites on land, marine, offshore vessels and structures at sea. This experience ranges from estimating, sales, project engineering and commissioning in countries in Europe (East and West), Africa, Indian sub-continent, America, Middle East and Far East using the whole range of fire detection and extinguishing methods.

Fire detection and alarm

Our experience encompasses optical, ionisation, heat, beam, ultra violet and infra-red detection, thermal cable, thermostats, pneumatic detection for non-electrical automatic extinguishant discharge and smoke sampling systems such as from High Sensitivity Smoke Detection (HSSD),(Vesda and Hart. etc.) to marine smoke detectors.

Suppression

Besides the more commonly used mediums of CO2, FM200 and sprinklers, we have experience in inert gases, water and foam monitors, deluge, high and low expansion foams including premix and non-aspirated applications, dry powder and saponification agents such as R102 or Wet Chemical which are mostly used in cooker hoods.

Servicing

We are able to liquid level check, large extinguishant containers and digitally check-weigh modules and smaller cylinders, gas blow through test existing piped systems, service all types of sprinkler and deluge systems, test detection and alarm systems and are prepared to work anywhere in the world. All work is done in compliance with the relevant British Standard, BFPSA, NFPA code (or similar national code overseas) and the supplier’s recommendations. We undertake to keep old but serviceable equipment in good order if economically viable and to give unbiased advice where it is needed.

Industry Independent

We are able to look at each project and evaluate the best engineering design based solely on the risk and within the defined financial parameters. As we are not tied to any one supplier or product we are able to offer the most suitable and economic solution to our clients situation and will never oversell; if existing systems are adequate or can be economically updated, we will advise accordingly.

Discretion

Our vehicles are not sign written, so our engineers are able to present themselves on your behalf to your principles as your own engineers. We are able to work in the UK or abroad at comparatively short notice.
